They say parenting doesn't come with a handbook, and it doesn’t, but I’d say that you would find it almost impossible to find a parent that hasn’t prayed for one at some point.

“I just can’t stand it anymore! The yelling, the tantrums, the backchat, throwing things! I’ve tried everything and nothing works.”

Sound familiar?

What if I told you that it doesn’t have to be that way; that you could have a household free of arguing? Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it.

Arguments aren’t born from a lack of caring for our kids, and they aren’t because we have a fondness for debating. Arguments are desperation, frustration, and exhaustion all rolled into one loud and fruitless package. The worst part about arguments is that they don’t really do anything. Maybe, if you’re lucky, you’ll get temporary relief, but more often than not the behaviour repeats itself almost immediately.

Believe it or not, parenting can be stress-free and effective at the same time.

Regardless of the age-old phrase “I was a kid once” the fact of the matter is that you aren’t a kid now. You look at the world through an entirely different lens, made up of practical things like deadlines, schedules, nutrition, and personal hygiene driven by your ability to think ahead. Your kids don’t have that view of the world yet, and nor should they. It is your job to teach them about those things, not expect them to know about them already.

When parents have a better understanding of how kids work developmentally they are better able to teach them in a way that they will understand. Knowing what to say, how to say it, when to talk, and when to keep quiet can be the difference between a stressful and stress-free relationship with your kids.

1-2-3 Magic & Emotion Coaching is a three-week course that will give you all of the skills that you need to create a nurturing and constructive pathway to adulthood for your child.

Over the course of the three weeks you will learn:

  • How to discipline without yelling, smacking, or arguing
  • How to use emotion coaching to encourage good behaviour, and support them through emotionally difficult times
  • How to teach self-regulation
  • To teach your kids to identify, track, and manage the emotions that guide their behaviour
  • How to manage challenging and difficult behaviours without losing your cool

Expressions of interest for the 2020 sessions are welcome. 

*NOTE: Each week goes for 2 hours and there will be a small fee that will cover the cost of the materials. The course can be taught in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.
